The Mural Art program, in conjunction with the Northern Liberties Neighborhood Association is proposing a permanent light installation at the I-95 underpass at 2nd and Spring Garden. The interactive installation, created by Sarah Zimmer and Kim Brickley, will change based on motion sensors activated by cars, bikes and pedestrians. As of now the light project is just in the development phase. - Saturday, 2/26: Albert M. Greenfield African-American Iconic Images Collection – The Mural Arts Program, in conjunction with the African-American Museum are presenting a tour of 47 murals throughout the city, which highlight the African-American experience in the city of Philadelphia. The first public tour with start this Saturday at 11am, departing from the Independence Visitor Center. The free one hour tours will depart every half hour until 2pm. Philly has got some of the best public art murals in the country. It’s a great opportunity to check them out, and learn about the stories behind the murals creation and inspiration. - Saturday, 2/26: Saucey Saturday at the Bottle Shop- The craft beer bar, the Bottle Shop will be hosting a hot sauce tasting this Saturday starting at 7:30pm. Sauces provided by WMD Hot Sauce and BRM. Food and hot sauce for only $5. Plus complimentary beer from Brooklyn Brewery. Get more information here.
- Sunday, 2.27: 9th Street Italian Market Tour- A guided tour of the World famous Italian Market. Learn about the market’s history, culture and most importantly, taste the amazing food. Tour runs from 10:30am to 1pm. Tickets are $15-20. For more information, check out the site.
