You’ve thought, saved, and notices a few things in your home that need updating, but there may be a little more to home renovation before selling your Philadelphia home than simply scheduling the work. Lots of people get into the fix it up, spring cleaning frenzy, but don’t know that there are other times of the year that may be better to complete their projects. Here are two easy things you can keep in mind to make the most of your remodeling.
Consider the season. Although the first day of summer may remind you to get your air conditioning system checked, it may not be the best time. Why? Because everyone else has the same idea, meaning your AC person has a million people calling at once. So, they’re in a hustle to get your job done as quickly as possible so they can move on to the next job, meaning there’s a higher chance you won’t get the caliber of service you would if you had scheduled your AC tune up in the beginning of spring when they won’t have a million jobs on their plate. Make sense?
Think about supply and demand. Once you have your project planned, you’ll know exactly what you’ll need, and if you have planned it with enough time you’ll be able to look around for the best deals on building materials. Due to seasonal constraints, the time to remodel may not coincide with sale prices on the items you need, but you can always buy your supplies in advance and store them until you need them. For example, you definitely don’t want to install a pool in the dead of winter when the ground is frozen, but you can certainly buy the materials you need in advance when they’re on sale.
From remodeling your kitchen to paving the driveway, if you plan in advance you’ll be able to take advantage of a few things most people don’t think about when making home improvements.
