Yes. Yes yes yes the answer is yes. Because of the housing market and the plethora of information available on the internet, people in the market to buy a home may find themselves thinking that they don’t need to work with a buyer’s agent. This is understandable, but there are a number of reasons why working with a buyer’s agent can benefit you.
You don’t pay a buyer’s agent. Their services are typically free. Yes, you read that right, free. Why? Your buyer’s agent splits the commission of the sale with the seller’s agent. The seller is the one who pays the commission. Meaning working with a buyer’s agent won’t cost you anything. When you work with a buyer’s agent, they are obligated to represent your best interest. So, why wouldn’t work with someone who is obligated to keep your best interests at heart and does so at no cost for you?
Buyer’s agents have access to information that you don’t. When you work with a buyer’s agent in finding a home, they’re going to keep your specific price point in mind. They’re not going to waste time showing you houses that are outside your budget, and most importantly, they can find out what other houses have recently sold for in your target areas. This allows them to create a negotiation strategy custom to you and your budget. A buyer’s agent is your best friend when it comes down to negotiating the best price for the home you want to purchase.
Lastly, buyer’s agents will save you a lot of time and effort. You can spend countless hours on the internet searching endless for sale postings and calling sellers or you can let your buyer’s agent do it for you. They have access to a database with thousands of homes for sale that you probably won’t find by just surfing the internet. Your buyer’s agent will take into account all of your needs like neighborhood, bedrooms, yard space, garage, etc and do all of the research. So you’ll only see listings that meet your criteria, saving you time and headaches. So here’s the real question, why wouldn’t you want to work with a buyer’s agent?
