Who does not love summer in Philadelphia? There are many opportunities to see free screenings of your favorite movies at various outdoor locations throughout the city.
There are free screenings at Liberty Lands Park in NoLibs, The Trocadero, Sugarhouse Casino, PhilaMOCA, and joining them is Race Street Pier brought to you by the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation and Awesome Fest.
Saturday, June 9 at 8p starts the free weekly viewings at the Race Street Pier. They will be doing screenings of independent films from major festivals like Sundance and SXSW on Awesome Fest’s brand new state-of-the-art, 30-foot outdoor airscreen, “The Awesome Screen.”
This is the third year Awesome Fest brings summer entertainment throughout Philadelphia, but it is the first series curated by their new program director Eric Bresler. He is also the founder of Cinedelphia, the city’s online film and festival guide that launched in January 2011.
The series starts with No Room for Rockstars: The Vans Warped Tour and continues with “a fun and classy” full schedule.
Take a much needed break from the house hunting and enjoy a free flick! When you are ready to resume the search, The Mickey Group will be here to help you every step of the way.
