Feng Shui and Selling Your Home

When trying to sell your house, there are many different ways to make your seem more appealing to potential buyers.  You can try home staging, organizing, and eliminating the clutter.  Another thing sellers are trying is feng shui.  The art of feng shui offers universal principles that benefit in selling a home. The goal is to create “positive chi” or energy flow in each room of your home.  It can be from tenants from the form or compass school, or the eight mansion Bagua theory, whichever one works  for your home.

Something as small as a closet can affect your home and the potential buyer; we hide things in closets.  Everything from skeletons, forbidden loves, to terrible birthday gifts.   Using feng shui techniques to clear the clutter can also clear away the negative memories and energy, making your home easier to sell.

There are a few tips that will give you positive emotional energy while you make your home ready to sale.  For instance, open the windows and doors.  Doing so will let a breeze through your home to clear the negative energy and refresh you as you begin your work.

Check the walkway and entrance to your home.  If you see any cobwebs and dust, clean them.  If something is blocking the entrance and you have to step over it to get in, remove it.

You can add energy with greenery.  An indoor or outdoor plant makes your home feel vibrant.  You can achieve it with exterior landscaping, by adding fresh flowers to the entry way, or indoor plants.

The art and movement of proper mirror placement can add positive energy.  Books can tell you step by step how to do this.  The goal is to reflect positivity and to not overwhelm or create clutter in your home.

Clear the clutter from your home.  Get rid of what you don’t need and create a “spa feel” in all the rooms of your home.  Your counters should be free of objects and papers, furniture should be placed in a way that allows ease of movement.  There should be no obstacles to interior door entrances.

These tips alone may not get your home sold, but they will help.  If you need any other help, be sure to give us a call or check out our website.
